Finally some snow!!!!

The snow was so pretty coming down on Friday night. It was very light and powdery. The ice wasn't very fun though. Max was very unhappy after the snow turned to rain on Saturday. I did bundle him up though! He is starting to get used to the ice now. Maybe the next snow will be just snow....love the little bits of snow that we get here in Eastern Carolina!

Fabulous Valentines

I created this card from the layout of a Christmas tag, that I found it in an old card magazine from a couple of years ago. I took a picture of the card with two different ribbons. The card on the right has a black organdy ribbon with silver thread along it's edges. I hadn't finished putting dazzling diamonds glitter around the edges of the hearts. The glitter with the organdy ribbon dresses it up quite a bit. The card on the left has black grossgrain ribbon. The sentiment is from the Whimsical Words set out of the new Sale-A-Bration catalog.

Squealing With Delight!

Greetings from a much warmer Eastern North Carolina! Although I am very disappointed about not getting any snow yet. I am relieved that we are on our way back to our nice 50 degree weather for a few days with a possible 60 on Friday. I still want some snow though!

Stamp camp was loads of fun last night. We had a chance to fellowship as well as, having a great time stamping and learning new techniques. For those who were unable to attend you missed a wonderful treat. How ever you do have a chance to go to the latter date on the 23rd. So all is not lost! :)

I added two treats for my wonderful grandmas who come to my classes. Usually we make 2 cards and a project (like a treat box, difficult card or new technique). I got so excited about Valentines that I added two treats to our usual stamping fair. The treats were cased from another stamper.....who I am sorry to say I didn't write down who they were. I will be more diligent to take note and give credit to the appropriate parties next time! Casing is when you use another person's idea.

The person I saw make the treats used a pixie stick. I decided to use a Valentine pencil instead. The other treat is my variation of another idea. I also used to do these baggies for Fall/Halloween. Since I didn't have a stamp with the words 'Hogs and Kisses'; I decided to used clear mailing labels. After printing out the words, it is as simple as peel and stick! The little piggy is from an old Stampin'up set called 'Very Punny'. I just love things that I can water color!

Let it Snow

Cute card we did for my December Stamp a Stash. The colors are Whisper White, Bashful Blue and Brocade Blue. The finished card is 5 1/2 x 4 1/4. The background is stamped with a mix of the blues using tri-snowflake stamp from Serene Snowflake set. The Center is stamped with the Let it Snow stamp from the Big on Christmas set. To have enough room for the snowflake to cover the snowman I had to ink one half of the stamp and then stamp my paper close to the left side of the card stock. To give a little space for the small circle and snowflake which covers the snowman I had to clean the first half off, then ink the last half and stamp it close to the right end of the card stock. I used the medium snowflake stamp from the Serene Snowflakes set to stamp on a piece of card stock. Once it was stamped I then used the small (1 3/8") circle punch to punch it out. A little 2-way glue and some dazzling diamonds on top of the snowflake to make it shimmer. I also glued down a small edge to the circle and voila we have a hidden snowman behind the snowman. The rest of the Let it snow stamp was water colored with watercolor pencils. I'm not sure where the small 'snow' words came from. Old random stamp probably.

Loads of Holiday Cheer

I love this stamp set even though I haven't used it much. This little card uses Real Red, Old Olive and my favorite Chocolate Chip. I used and old Stampin' up stamp set called Happy Winter for the background snow. The snow flake stamp was stamped in chocolate chip on White Whisper White Card stock. I used the Time for a Tree stampin' around wheel for the center of the card. This was also stamped in Chocolate Chip and then water colored. After tying a little ribbon on my card was complete. The finished card is 5 1/2 X 4 1/4.

Winter Greetings from Eastern North Carolina

It's that wonderful time of the year! Hmmmm. Would that be snow in eastern North Carolina? Or the arrival of Valentines right around the corner? Maybe a little of both! There is a possibility of snow late Thursday. I hope to see some! (For those not familiar with ENC, we don't receive much snow and it doesn't stick around long!)
As for Valentines I love it. It is such a wonderful time to share with friends and family how much you love them. It is also a good time to share the love of Jesus Christ, just a Saint Valentine did centuries ago!
