Summer Sails

This is a card I created from a layout idea I saw in a local craft store. Just a little bit of summer to share. I used it as a masculine birthday card. Very simple and fast to put together. I used some old stamps that I had and some retiring colors from Stampin' up. I put a little 2 way glue on the water and added some ultra fine stampin' glitter. It turned out nice enough a friend of mine who stamps took a picture of it to make one of her own! Hope you like it as much as I do.

Estuarium in Little Washington

I love nature. So this summer I am taking my preschoolers on some nature focused fieldtrips. We went to the Estuarium this week and they absolutely loved it. It is so pretty. I wish more cities would develop a place for city runoff to go before it enters the rivers and streams. My kids loved the turtles on the board walk. They followed us most of the way until we got to the lily pads where they just couldn't keep up.

It's a Long Hot Summer!

I don't know about you but I am not a fan of summer. Love the growing season and summer rain, but the heat and humidity just stinks! And thank you Lord for the beautiful rain this week!I got the opportunity to go with my sister and nephew at the end of may to the Science & Nature museum in Durham. It is really cool place. This is one of the fabulous pictures of the beautiful butterflies that were floating around in the butterfly pavilion. If you get the chance it is definitely an awesome place to go!

Sometimes a deal really isn't a deal at all!

The card was cute on the table...it doesn't carry over in the picture! Just a simple Saint Patrick's day card. It would be cute with a ribbon added to dress it up. I just may make some changes to dress it up alittle! If you don't want Saint Patrick's day on it change the greeting to one like "Your're never more than a thought away" from the Whimisical Words set that is in the new sale-a-bration catalog from Stampin' up! FYI....there is something to be said about putting a little money into your stamps! The swirl and words that I used came out of a dollar bin.....and they are precious! However, they don't work as well as the one's you pay alittle more for! Some of the ones from a local craft store won't hold the ink on the stamp....it beads up and you endup with holes in your design where they shouldn't be. Sometimes a deal isn't really a deal!!!

Feeling a little green!

Well, I finally have uploaded the cards I made from a couple of years ago. They were of course cased from some very old card magazines from about 2005-2007. My next stamp a stash class will have cards along these lines! Meaning they will have a green theme for those who would like to be or are Irish. However, if you are not feeling Irish they make nice spring thinking of you cards!

Finally some snow!!!!

The snow was so pretty coming down on Friday night. It was very light and powdery. The ice wasn't very fun though. Max was very unhappy after the snow turned to rain on Saturday. I did bundle him up though! He is starting to get used to the ice now. Maybe the next snow will be just snow....love the little bits of snow that we get here in Eastern Carolina!

Fabulous Valentines

I created this card from the layout of a Christmas tag, that I found it in an old card magazine from a couple of years ago. I took a picture of the card with two different ribbons. The card on the right has a black organdy ribbon with silver thread along it's edges. I hadn't finished putting dazzling diamonds glitter around the edges of the hearts. The glitter with the organdy ribbon dresses it up quite a bit. The card on the left has black grossgrain ribbon. The sentiment is from the Whimsical Words set out of the new Sale-A-Bration catalog.
